JDR JP1 V2 Brushless Spec Racing Motors
JDR JP1 V2 Brushless Spec Racing Motors
Same Look. New Design.
At first glance, the JDR JP1 V2 looks a lot like the original JP1. Same unmistakable motor-can design, same competition-focused appearance, and a subtle V2 marking to distinguish the new generation.
But the important changes aren't on the outside.
The JDR JP1 V2 Spec Brushless Motor introduces a redesigned stator developed around the updated 2027 ROAR rules prohibiting epoxy fill in the stator windings. Rather than treating the rule change as a simple manufacturing adjustment, JDR has revised the internal design, with improvements in resistance across all winds.
In spec racing, where motor regulations limit many of the variables available to competitors, electrical efficiency deserves attention. Lower winding resistance can reduce resistive losses under comparable operating conditions, although actual motor performance also depends on winding characteristics, gearing, timing, temperature, and the complete power system.
The JP1 V2 is equipped with the JDR1002 High-Strength Rotor, measuring 12.5mm in diameter and 25.9mm in length. It retains the familiar JP1 motor architecture while introducing meaningful changes to the components that matter most.
This isn't a cosmetic update with a new sticker. It's an evolution of the JP1 platform designed for the next generation of spec racing regulations.
Features
- Redesigned JP1 V2 Stator: Updated internal construction developed to address the 2027 ROAR rules prohibiting stator epoxy fills.
- Improved Resistance: Revised stator design shows lower resistance across the available spec winds compared with the original JP1.
- JDR1002 High-Strength Rotor: Includes a 12.5mm diameter x 25.9mm length rotor.
- Competition-Focused Spec Motor: Developed for racers seeking an efficient, carefully engineered brushless motor platform.
- Familiar JP1 Construction: Retains the recognizable JP1 motor-can appearance with updated V2 branding.

Why Does the 25.5T Version Not Carry the V2 Branding?
JDR designed and released the 25.5T JP1 spec motor well after the original JP1 release. As such, the 25.5T variant has a will continue to meet the ROAR rules for 25.5T spec motors now, and beyond the end of 2026.
